The pioneering hands-on workshop, at the Embryolab Medically Assisted Reproduction Unit, entitled “TIME TO TRANSFER: A PRACTICAL WORKSHOP ON OPTIMIZATION AND MASTERING OF EMBRYOTRANSFER” was completed with great success, with the participation of 10 distinguished speakers and 32 participants, specialists in assisted reproduction reproduction, from 10 different countries.

speakersEmbryolab Academy scientists recognize the importance of Embryotransfer in the outcome of IVF treatment, organized an intensive bilateral scientific information, education and interaction in the field of embryo transfer. The two parts, practical and hands-on, addressed both the latest theories in scientific knowledge and the needs of participants for high-quality simulation training under the guidance of the Experts.

For the first time in Greece, and among the first in the world, delegates were trained in special Embryotransfer simulators, with models of the female reproductive system connected to the projection screens. Participants trained in cases of graded difficulty according to their experience and were evaluated in each attempt, with the appearance of the chances of successful implantation of the embryos. An important and decisive practical training of experts in the field of embryo transfer, for the positive outcome of IVF protocols.

At the same time, the embryo transfer was presented as a process in parts and systematically with the aim of understanding these steps in an effort to standardize the process and to be safe and effective at the same time.

Another module was developed, real cases, videotaped Embryotransfers with the aim of educating, watching, discussing and interacting with speakers and participants.

“I am ever so happy for such a highly successful workshop on embryotransfer, organised by Embryolab Academy. It was an honour to welcome a team of highly eminent speakers addressing the current aspects of the embryotransfer procedure, as well as focusing on innovative methods of evaluation of the endometrial environment. Attendants enjoyed hands-on training on embryotransfer simulators and discussed video cases with experts in highly interacting sessions. Embryotransfer is a very short procedure, still, carries a great impact on IVF treatment. Standardising the procedure of embryotransfer and addressing the needs of structured training is the cornerstone of effective and safe practice”. quoted Dr. Nicholas Christoforidis, MD, MSc, FRCOG, Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist, Clinical Director Embryolab Fertility Clinic, Co-Founder and Board Member of Embryolab Academy and continuously stated: “Embryotransfer is the final and, at the same time, a critical step in IVF treatment. Recent evidence has highlighted the need for structured and standardised training in embryotransfer. Moreover, there is an increasing interest in the evaluation of the uterine environment before the embryotransfer takes place, as this is emerging as an independent factor in IVF success rates. The 2-day training workshop, organised by Embryolab Academy, addressed both recent advances in scientific knowledge and also the trainees’ needs to train in high-quality simulators with the guidance of experts.”

workshop processMrs. Alexia Chatziparasidou, BSc, MSc, PMI-RMP, Consultant Sr. Clinical Embryologist, Director of Embryolab Academy, Co-Founder and Board Member of Embryolab Fertility Clinic states: “The embryo transfer technique plays a key role for a successful outcome after IVF! Up-to-date knowledge and training are essential! During our two-day training workshop, 10 internationally known experts presented all the important aspects for a successful embryo transfer technique, while our participants tested and advanced their embryo transfer skills using simulators developed by Virtamed! Currently, a very limited number of such educational events are available worldwide and at the same time they are very much needed! The mission of the Embryolab Αcademy is to advance IVF practices and I am confident that advancing and standardizing embryo transfer will help improve success rates after IVF.”

We would like to thank VIRTAMED for the support of the Workshop and the important participation of its Experts in the educational processes, who stated:

“We have been honored and grateful for the trust received by the Embryolab Academy to support their 1st MasterClass in Embryotransfer technique with our Embryotransfer simulator developed with ASRM. Looking forward to continuing this great collaboration for the coming years!” Dr Magid Haddouchi, Senior Vice President of Sales

“Congratulations to the whole Embryolab Academy Team for the very high quality of lectures and the great faculty gathered on this course! Embryolab Academy is definitely the reference center for the quality of the clinical care, research and education in IVF!” Klaudia Castro, Training & Education Specialist

We would like to thank our Gold Sponsors: FERRING, VIANEX, Silver Sponsors: COOK Medical, Mediplan, and Bronze Sponsors: Merck, Supplekey, Fertiland Farma for supporting Embryolab Academy organizing this innovative Workshop!

The Conference completed in an atmosphere of absolute interaction and enthusiasm, from Experts and Participants with the promise to reorganize it as soon as possible for the development of Embryo Transfer!
