For the first time in Greece, and among the first in the world, delegates were trained in special Embryotransfer simulators, with models of the female reproductive system connected to the projection screens. Participants trained in cases of graded difficulty according to their experience and were evaluated in each attempt, with the appearance of the chances of successful implantation of the embryos. An important and decisive practical training of experts in the field of embryo transfer, for the positive outcome of IVF protocols.
At the same time, the embryo transfer was presented as a process in parts and systematically with the aim of understanding these steps in an effort to standardize the process and to be safe and effective at the same time.
Another module was developed, real cases, videotaped Embryotransfers with the aim of educating, watching, discussing and interacting with speakers and participants.
“I am ever so happy for such a highly successful workshop on embryotransfer, organised by Embryolab Academy. It was an honour to welcome a team of highly eminent speakers addressing the current aspects of the embryotransfer procedure, as well as focusing on innovative methods of evaluation of the endometrial environment. Attendants enjoyed hands-on training on embryotransfer simulators and discussed video cases with experts in highly interacting sessions. Embryotransfer is a very short procedure, still, carries a great impact on IVF treatment. Standardising the procedure of embryotransfer and addressing the needs of structured training is the cornerstone of effective and safe practice”. quoted Dr. Nicholas Christoforidis, MD, MSc, FRCOG, Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist, Clinical Director Embryolab Fertility Clinic, Co-Founder and Board Member of Embryolab Academy and continuously stated: “Embryotransfer is the final and, at the same time, a critical step in IVF treatment. Recent evidence has highlighted the need for structured and standardised training in embryotransfer. Moreover, there is an increasing interest in the evaluation of the uterine environment before the embryotransfer takes place, as this is emerging as an independent factor in IVF success rates. The 2-day training workshop, organised by Embryolab Academy, addressed both recent advances in scientific knowledge and also the trainees’ needs to train in high-quality simulators with the guidance of experts.”
